Consultation

This first meeting in an opportunity to discuss the exciting ideas & thoughts you have on creating your new space. We can work together to find out what type of garden you really want.

Don’t worry if you’re not quite sure yet, I can help you find out exactly what it is you’re looking for in a garden.  We will walk around your garden and discuss the existing layout and features and how to best utilise the spaces possibilities and limitations to achieve its full potential.

Having listened carefully to your ideas I will then draw up a design brief and provide you with a quote for the design services required.

This initial meeting is charged at a reduced rate which is payable in full on the day. This charge will be knocked off my final design fee.

Survey

A detailed survey produced to scale is the important next step in the process. It’s important to establish all the key information about the site including aspect, soil type, views into and out of the garden, services and existing plants and features to be retained.

Any copies you can supply of plans of your property including from your deeds or previous surveys will help inform the process.

Depending on the complexity of the site it may be necessary to engage a qualified surveyor.

Design & Presentation Plan

Once you’re happy with the design brief and all the site survey information has been analysed I will produce a design for you that encompasses both the practical and aesthetic elements of your brief.

The plan will be presented as a 2D birds eye view of your new garden showing all the hard landscaping elements, planted areas, features and practicalities included. 3D views will help you better visualise your proposed new garden.

Planting Plan

A detailed custom planting design with planting plan will ensure the right plants for the soil, situation and design style will enhance the garden and add interest throughout the year, this will include a guide on their future care to make sure your garden continues to look at its best for many years to come.
The plan will show the position, quantity and size of each plant to allow for nursery quotes for supplying the plants. Once the plants have arrived on site I can put them in their ideal position and help you arrange planting.

Construction

We can work together to find skilled landscapers, specialists and suppliers to provide quotes for the construction of your garden and source any features or furniture.

I can prepare documents outlining the work to be carried out and appropriate materials to be used.

I can prepare plans and construction details to allow contactors to layout and build your garden exactly as planned.
